Gosanyaki is made by adding egg yolk to the typical blend of ingredients. These include wasanbon (refined Japanese sugar) from the Awa region, brand-name eggs from Nagasaki, and glutinous rice syrup from Saga Prefecture.
Drawing on the 150 years of experience in confectionery, this is a more refined evolution of the classic Nagasaki castella. The single serving size makes it ideal for giving to others, as well as keeping it fresh in storage.
